About Me

Hello, I’m Meg!

buisness that is Pipit Prints.

I’ve always been drawn to the natural world, from the wildlife that goes about its buisness, unassuming, sometimes secretive and sometimes bold. To the truely rugged and wild landscapes of moutain tops, moors and windswept coasts. I grew up in a small rural village in the North Penines, dominated by wild moorland, roaring rivers, traditional hay meadows and colourful woodlands. This has had a lasting impact on me, leading to a love for the outdoors, wildlife, and all things natural. This continues to inspire me to this day.

For now I am based in Lancaster, a wonderful creative city with fantastic links to the Lake District, Forest of Bowland, the Yorkshire Dales, and North Wales. So I am certainly not lacking for inspiration.

Growing up I have always been drawn to creative activites, leading me to follow painting through to early adulthood, which became a large part of my life. However, on a whim several years ago I picked up a linoprinting kit, and I haven’t looked back since. There is something magical about carving a design into lino, rolling out the ink, and revealing a print for the very first time. I love the handmade, slightly unpredictable nature of the process. I also appreicate the finality of carving, if you make mistakes they become part of the process, something I found difficult when painting.

My work is inspired by wildlife, changing seasons, and untamed beauty, but also by the surrounding folklore and stories that go with them. As such, my work is for curious souls, nature lovers, and free spirits who appreciate things made slowly, thoughtfully, with a little story behind. So if you love a bit of whimsy, earthy colours, and all things natural, then you’re in the right place.

Thank you for being here, and supporting my buisness. Every order, kind words, and shared post helps me keep doing what I love – making art inspired by the wild and wonderful and bringing it closer to you lovely folks.
